We stayed at a hotel in Ban Houayxay that had a great location, right on the Main Street with easy access to restaurants and activities. The building itself was beautiful and had an elegant feel. Our room was spacious and had the most comfortable bed we've had in months of traveling. The lady running the guesthouse was lovely and helped us with bus tickets. It was also conveniently located directly opposite the Gibbon Experience office, which was the main reason for our stay.

The cleanliness of the hotel was a bit disappointing. The bathroom wasn't very clean and the sheets were not up to standard.

Great location across from Gibbons Experience and currency exchange, with ATM nearby. Plenty of restaurants along the road. French Colonial style adds character to the hotel. Comfortable beds, working air conditioner, and hot water showers. Staff member at the front desk was wonderful, providing excellent service, perfect English, and helpful advice about the town and Laos. Room was spacious, clean, and eco-friendly with refillable drinking water available.
